Privacy policy

Who we are

What we collect and why

• Your answers (first name if given, date, time and place of birth, the city you live in): used only to calculate your report. Legal basis: providing the service you ask for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), with your agreement given in the form.
• Payment: Stripe processes your email and card details. We never see your card number.
• Usage statistics: when configured, PostHog receives questionnaire and purchase-funnel events, including step names, selected destination area, home country, purchase value and transaction identifier. It uses memory-based rather than persistent browser storage. Birth date and time are not sent to PostHog. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)), subject to applicable rules.
• Advertising cookies: when configured, Meta, TikTok and Google Ads pixels load only after you accept advertising cookies. They may receive browsing and conversion events, including purchase value. We do not send your birth details to them. Legal basis: consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can change your choice under "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Where your data is stored

We do not maintain a separate database of questionnaire answers. To let you reopen a purchased report, your first name (if supplied), birth date and time, place of birth, current location and report year are saved in Stripe Checkout Session metadata alongside the purchase. Stripe also processes payment and contact information supplied during checkout. Cloudflare provides website infrastructure and may process IP addresses, request details and security logs. If configured, PostHog processes analytics events (using its configured endpoint), and Meta, TikTok and Google process advertising events only after consent. Providers may process information internationally using applicable safeguards.

How long we keep it

We do not keep a separate customer questionnaire database. Stripe retains checkout, payment and associated report metadata according to its retention policies and applicable legal requirements. Infrastructure and analytics providers retain their own operational records under their respective policies. Records that must be kept for accounting, tax or legal reasons may not be deleted immediately; no universal ten-year period is asserted here. Contact us to request deletion where applicable.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or deletion, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time by emailing support@yourbirthdaystars.com. You may also request data portability where applicable. We will handle requests subject to identity verification and legal retention obligations; certain Stripe records may need to be retained. You have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD) or another competent authority.
